When Tesco introduced their local milk initiative
I thought it was a good idea. The point was not only to support small dairy farmers but also to cut down on how far the product travelled to get to you, therefore having less effect on the environment. It appears now that Tesco have redefined the meaning of local. One definition I found was: "relating to or applicable to or concerned with the administration of a city or town or district rather than a larger area".
Tesco, however are selling milk branded as local when it has come from 150 miles away. That doesn’t seem very local to me.
