A Sumatran tiger cub has been born at London Zoo for the first time in 17 years. The cub was born last week with the pregnancy being kept a closely guarded secret. The species is on the critically endangered list. This cub was born six months after the opening of a tiger territory at the zoo which is aimed at encouraging the breeding of this species of tiger, so far it looks like it is off to a good start.
