I have read a few articles about cat cafes, places that offer tea and coffee and the chance to stroke the resident cats. They have proven to be quite popular in Japan and now it appears are coming to London. The UK’s first cat cafe is due to open in London within the next few months after members of the public donated over £100,000 to make it happen. Entrepreneur Lauren Peters hopes to open the cafe in the Old Street area of London and have the cafe open by May. She has already found 10 cats to work in the cafe from the Mayhew Animal Home in Kensal Green. Lauren believes the cafe will prove popular in London as many city dwellers are unable to have pets of their own. It will be interesting to see how it goes.
