Prince Philip sent a pair of his trousers to his tailor to be unpicked and restyled into a more up to date style. Either the credit crunch is starting to hit the Royal family or he simply wanted to hang onto his favourite pair of trousers for a little longer. The trousers will be converted from a baggy style that was popular in the fifties to a more trendy straight legged cut. His tailor also commented "One of the most remarkable things is how he has managed to maintain his waist size when most of us have seen it expand."
